Shanghai Disneyland cost $5.5 billion to build and it is said to be the cheapest out of all the Disneyland resorts. Take the following advice to make a wonderful trip.

1. Buy Souvenirs in Advance

Disney has covered practically every industry, which makes it easy to find Disney items anywhere, from Walmart, Target, and your local grocery stores to department stores and Amazon. You can save a lot of money by purchasing items before your trip at these less-expensive retailers(零售商) than at Disneyland.

2. Make an Autograph Book (签名簿)

An autograph book is seen as a must-have by many Disneyland enthusiasts and is a memory you can take home with you. These books can cost anywhere from $7.95 to $19.95 at the Disney Store and up to $30 for the latest-and-greatest autograph book at Disneyland, such as the park’s 60th anniversary edition. Other options can get the job done for under $5. For example, you can buy a small, generic photo album; cute memo pads or notebooks.

3. Bring Your Own Food and Drinks

While Disney’s official policy says it does not allow outside food or drinks, Disneyland does allow most food items. Take snacks for throughout the day or pack a lunch to enjoy in the picnic area just outside the main entrance of the park.

4. Arrange Your Trip Around the Low Season Times

Lots of things, from airfare to souvenirs, can get more expensive during Disneyland’s busier time of the year. To make the most of your money, plan your trip during the park’s low season. The months of September through March—excluding December—are not as crowded at the parks, and even hotels can be less expensive during these months.

C. At Disneyland.                                                         D. In grocery stores.

C. It’s up-to-date.                                                         D. It’s very cheap.

23. According to the writer, when is the best time to visit Disneyland?

A. During the off-season.                                             B. From September to March.

C. When airfare is cheaper.                                                D. During Disneyland’s busier time.

There are works of fiction that are published, enjoyed, but after a few years, more or less disappear. Then there are novels that don’t just have literary success, but major cultural impact. One such book is One Hundred Years of Solitude, whose 50th anniversary is this year. It was written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (1927-2014).

It is an epic(史诗) tale of the nation of Colombia, from the country’s founding to Marquez’s own time. The novel is a major example of a revolution in South American writing that was to have a far-reaching influence on global literature. The method of writing that Marquez and others are credited with inventing, “magic realism”switched normal storytelling into a style where anything could happen.

Marquez treats Colombian history skeptically. He focuses on political corruption(腐败), civil war and the negative influence of American big business. And while this could be a description of a very conventional novel, One Hundred Years of Solitude is anything but conventional.

It took a memory of his grandmother to show him the right way to write the novel. He recalled that when she told him stories in his childhood, she would put on a “brick face”. Marquez remembered this trick and began to write the novel differently. He wrote, “If you tell something to someone with an absolutely serious expression on your face, you have a chance of them believing what you say.” It seems that mastering this trick of his grandmother’s helped Marquez create one of the greatest literary works of the 20th century.

25. Why did the novel have a deep effect on global literature?

A. It created the magic realism.

B. It is an epic tale of Colombia.

C. It tells a South American revolution.

D. It used a normal storytelling method.

26. How does the author think of Marquez’s writing style?

A. Skeptical                        B. Realistic.                        C. Conventional.                D. Untraditional.

27. What does the underlined phrase “brick face” in Paragraph 4 refer to?

A. Serious look.                                                           B. Funny expression.

C. Beautiful dress.                                                              D. Strong face mask.

HandEnergy is an apple-sized device (设备) that charges your phone anytime, anywhere. But what really makes this thing special is the fact that it uses your own personal energy to do it.

In a time where power-banks (充电宝) and solar-power devices have become mainstream, a device that lets you charge doesn’t sound very special. But while power-banks have to be charged the old fashioned way, and solar-power devices need the sun to store energy, HandEnergy just needs a hand. To get this little guy to produce energy, which it then stores in built-in batteries, all you have to do is hold it in your hand and rotate (旋转) your wrists.

To use HandEnergy, users start by winding a starter ring. This sends a signal to activate the rotor (旋转器), at which point they can start rotating their wrists to keep the rotor spinning. It might sound hard to believe, but the rotor inside HandEnergy spins at an average speed of 5,000 rotations per minute, changing mechanical power into an electric current, and charging the built-in batteries. To charge a device, all you have to do is connect it to HandEnergy using a USB cable.

HandEnergy was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter, raising over $71,000 m one month, and will be available for the masses in May 2018at a price of $99. One thing is for sure—it beats paying thousands of dollars on a solar-powered charging device.

28. What is HandEnergy used for?

A. Controling an Apple phone.                                     B. Providing power.

C. Burning personal energy.                                               D. Amusing a child.

29. How does HandEnergy produce energy?

A. By exposing it to the sun.

B. By keeping its rotor spinning.

C. By connecting the power source.

D. By opening and closing your hand.

30. Which of the following is the right order?

Users wind a starter ring.                                               The battery is charged.

The rotor spins.                                                              Users rotate their wrists.

A. ①②③④                        B. ③①②④                        C. ①④③②                        D. ③④①②

31. What can be inferred about HandEnergy from the last paragraph?

A. It is sort of expensive.

B. It has come into market.

C. It is popular with the public.

D. It may have a bright future.

Meditation is a way to gain a better understanding of what is going on inside your head and your body, and it can help you have a better life.

There are almost endless different kinds of meditation but they all have one thing in common, the seated gesture. Sitting with your back straight and your legs crossed allows the body to become motionless for long enough to get in touch with the feelings you are having inside, and the effect those feelings are having on your state of mind.

All of the different forms of meditation have one purpose, to allow you to separate your “self” from what’s going on in your head! Why does this matter? Because most of what is going on in our heads isn’t very nice!

You see our brains have developed over millions of years, to help us survive. Back in the days of lions and tigers trying to eat us, we had to be very sensitive to dangers around us. Now, millions of years later, our minds are still programmed to seek out danger, so we tend to look at everything from a negative angle.

Well, it doesn’t need to be that way! Because we are not cave people anymore! The newest parts of our brain that have developed are where our feelings of love and happiness and creativity function lie.

Meditation helps us cool down the fear response that comes naturally to us, and helps us access the higher function areas of our brain.

This allows us to live happier, healthier and more productive lives. By having access to this new awesome area of the brain we can do better at school, perform better in sports, have better relationships with our parents and friends, and spot dangerous thoughts and behaviors before they lead us into trouble!

32. What is the common thing in different kinds of meditation?

A. Thinking deep in your mind.                                    B. Sitting in the same style.

C. Affecting your feelings inside.                                         D. Helping to lead an active life.

33. What is the purpose of practicing meditation?

A. To tell us what happens in your head.

B. To get in touch with the outside world.

C. To separate yourself from what you think.

D. To get rid of the strange thoughts in your brain.

34. What causes us to look at things negatively?

A. Many lions and tigers arc around us.

B. We have bad relationships in society.

C. Sensation to dangers continues until now.

D. We lack the higher function areas of our brain.

35. Which of the following can be the best title for the text?

A. What is meditation?                                                        B. Meditation made simple.

C. Meditation gestures.                                                       D. Forms of meditation.
