Dear Brown,
It is great to receive your e – mail. Now I’d like to tell you something that took place in my school last Thursday. In the morning we held a growing – up ceremony for our coming 18 – year – old birthday. At first we made an oath that as grown – ups we should have a sense of duty for our society from now on. Then we showed our thanks to our parents who had gone through hardships to bring us up and teachers who have been educating us patiently. And some of our teachers and principal made speeches, expressing their good wishes to us. Finally we put on wonderful performances, singing and dancing. We learned a lot from the activity. I think it’s important for us. I will remember the day forever.

Learning to save money when you are young is an important lesson. All good lessons and habits begin early, and saving is a skill that everyone needs, many people – adults included – do not have a good sense of saving for the long run.
I have been lucky to learn this lesson early because I have had a grass – cutting business since I was 10 years old. Of the money I make, I spent about 10 percent and save the other 99 percent.
Making sure you save and don’t spend too much is a good way to build up wealth. I have put my earnings in a bank. Many teens I know spend all the money they earn so it never has a chance to grow.
Young people should realize that their teenage years are a great time to begin saving.
At high school, many parents pay for almost everything, so your expenses can be small. If you have a job, you should have fun with some of the money. But you should also save some so that it will grow. Then you can begin planning for your future. When you spend money, you not only lose that money, but you also lose the interest you could have earned by saving it.
After high school, college is expensive and then “real” life begins, with the expense such as food and rent.
If you can hold onto a good percentage of the money you earn as a teen, going to college and buying a house will be much easier. The earlier you begin saving, the more time the money has to grow.
If you are in your thirties without any savings, you will always have to struggle. The earlier you begin saving the earlier it is to create a nest egg. Later in life it can be hard to start saving because general costs of living are most expensive and you may only have enough to pay your bills.
If you want to buy a house and have a family, you need money to start with, which comes from saving. Many say money cannot make you happy, and this is true. But money can help you to lead a secure life.
Saving early will mean you will have to work for fewer years when you are older. It will also allow you to spend time doing the things that you want.

It wasn’t too long ago that I was in high school trying to balance hours of homework, dance team practice three days a week, taking voice lessons an hour a week, rehearsals for the drama show, holding down a weekend job and at the same time trying to have a social life. Colleges and employers have put an emphasis on the importance of being involved in school activities, most kids these days are trying to do more than they can. If it doesn’t seem possible, trust me, even though I learned the hard way, I somehow managed to make it due to serious Time Management.
When I was a freshman in high school I tried to do it all without making sure that I had time for myself. Well, I learned quickly that it was impossible to do everything and remain the same. I was rushing everywhere; I was skipping lunches to have meetings and do homework; I barely saw my family, much less to talk to them; I accidentally made dates to hang out with separate groups of friends on the same night; and, as if it couldn’t be any worse, I was barely sleeping. Getting sick was out of the question for me because it would mess up my schedule. This seemed to work until I noticed that I was falling asleep in class, arriving late to school, and calling in sick to work more often than not. I realized that I needed to brush up on my Time Management skills and work fast.
So I sat down with my mom and organized all the activities that I wanted to be involved in, next I prioritized; I decided what activities were most important to me. Schoolwork came first, second time with friends, and then my after – school activities. By doing this I even realized that I wasn’t enjoying playing a sport; I much preferred to spend that time hanging out with my friends. All of a sudden I saw what was important to me and time went to doing that rather than wasting it on activities that just sounded good to me.

The golden autumn leaves are fitness reminder for us all. This is the time of year trees takes it off, and people put it on – weight that is.
“It is a rainy Saturday in November. Shall I go for my regular run or get a cup of hot chocolate and watch a DVD on the couch?” When you are faced with these kinds of choices, staying fit takes a will of iron. But there are plenty of ways to stay healthy and fit while enjoying the good things about winter. Here are some tips:
Watch your diet. First things first – keep an eye on what you eat. Experts recommend vegetable soup as a quick, healthy warm – up meal. Just watch serving sizes – we tend to eat whatever’s in our bowls. Stews can be both filling and fattening. Use loads of fresh vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and leeks, and not so much meat and potatoes. Avoid eating while watching TV. Never bring the whole bag or bowl of anything to the sofa. Measure it into small portions beforehand.
Keep exercising. Winter’s arrival doesn’t mean we should stop exercising. Exercise makes you feel good, and helps you keep colds and flu away. The weather change only means we need to adjust our routines. Remember that it gets darker earlier. Make adjustments by joining a gym, planning evening walks in the neighborhood or becoming an early riser. Plan some family/ friends fun time. One great way to stay healthy in winter is joining in team sports such as volleyball, basketball or soccer. The exercise and team spirit are hard to beat, but watch out for the hotpot part afterward. Take a class. Something like yoga or belly dancing is all you need to get out of the house once or twice a week. Plan to go with friends, that way you’ll motivate each other. Start a routine. The amount of exercise you need to stay fit isn’t actually all that much. Just 20 minutes a day is all you need. Exercise should be vigorous enough to raise your heart rate. So take the stairs instead of the lift. Go swimming. Grab sunny days for an outing.
By keeping your fitness levels up over the winter, you’ll find you feel better and get less colds. And you’ll be ready welcome next summer with delight – instead of a diet.
