Today, many people are too busy to spend enough time with their family. What are the causes of this phenomenon and what problems has it brought to families and society as a whole?
In this day and age, the human society is progressing rapidly on various aspects. Many modern technologies were invented by human such as cars, computers and Internet. But advances in technology lead to our pace of life much faster than before. People have not enough time with their family.
It is evident that the causes of this phenomenon are different. In the first place, advancing in technology improves the efficiency of production, but also causes people to do more things at the same time. Moreover, this is especially true when we consider the fact that the global financial crisis in recent years has led many people to fear losing their job, and the significant rising costs of life which need people to work harder than before. Besides, employees may be scattered at the whole world. For example, my friend often holds a meeting at middle-night with his colleague who stays in the US and he still needs to work at daytime.
In my opinion, the impact of this phenomenon on families and society is profound. People do not have enough time to spend with their family, especially with their children. They may spend much time in front of TV or computer games which have much violence and may seriously influence children's growth. Furthermore, the increasingly over-speed lifestyle will engender a higher incidence(发生率)of illness. More instances about employee's sudden death at his/her workplace are reported by media and we must make reflection.
In brief, I pen down saying that people should spend more time with their family because families are the foundation of the society. This is no longer a problem for individual families, but for society as a whole.
25. The purpose of the author to write the text is to ________.
A. disclose the strange phenomenon at present
B. encourage people to spend more time with family

D. imply the human society needs to be reformed
26. One cause of this phenomenon is that ________.
A. modern technology brings people much trouble
B. computers and Internet save much time for people
C. advancing in technology makes people very busy
D. economic development leads people to be engaged in their jobs
27. The author blames people for ________.
A. working hard at their work B. not taking care of their children
C. playing computer games too much D. not caring about their own health
28. The underlined word" engender" in the fourth paragraph means _______.
A. lead to B. result from C. arise from D. take in

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed on wednesday that the socialist path China has followed is "correct", and it is the choice of the “history and people”.
Citing the remarkable achievements China has made over the past 37 years when it initiated the reform and opening-up policy, Xi noted that it only took several decades for China to complete the journey the developed countries have gone through for centuries.
“That fully shows that the Chinese people are following a correct path,” the president said while addressing a banquet hosted by Lord Mayor of the City of London Alan Yarrow on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, he pledged that China will stay committed to a peaceful development path and does not accept the logic that a country will seek hegemony once it gets strong.
“No one and nothing — in any reason — can sway China’s determination and will to pursue the path of peaceful development,” he said.
In his speech, the president also elaborated on the development of friendly relations between China and Britain, citing tea culture, literature, movies, TV dramas, football and cultural exchanges.
He specifically referred to Shakespeare’s influence on him by sharing the story of his youth time in the countryside, when he was obsessed with the master’s works.
“The China-Britain friendship has been deeply rooted in the hearts of our two peoples. And there is a solid foundation in public opinion and in society for the two countries to grow long-term relations,” he added.

The general objective of public interest advertising is to inform, persuade, or remind people about the particular idea, cause, or philosophy being advertised. This kind of advertising is often used by non-business institutions, such as schools, hospitals and charity organizations. We also see advertising by associations. In addition, we witness millions of dollars’ worth of advertising placed by government organizations. Much government advertising announces the availability of such valuable government services as consumer assistance, welfare aid, or career guidance. However, with the resource available to it, the government can also use advertising techniques for propaganda purposes. Many state governments use advertising to attract new businesses, tourists, or workers to aid their economy.
Because of the fact that public interest advertising is nonprofit, the words it uses are much more different from the other 3 kinds of advertising. Its purpose is not to urge readers to spend their money, but to disseminate a kind of concept or advocate a social ethic. The headline of public interest advertising also acts as a role of attraction. The average words of them are 10.6, and most of them are curious headlines (60%) and emotional headlines (30%). We can know from the statistics that attracting the reader is still a main task for the headline of public interest advertising, because only when the readers feel the advertising will benefit them (no matter physically or mentally) should they have the patience to read it further—that’s the rule of all the advertisements. I also notice that only 10% of those advertisements include their advertiser’s brand, which shows that the public interest advertisements do not aim to propagandize any company or organization. Straight-line body copy is the most frequently used form—which is 50% of the 20 ads. 75% of those ads have used imperative sentences. Most of these sentences are urging readers to take action immediately for others or social ethics. All these data show the fact that public interest advertising does not please readers by beautiful words or original ideas, but touch them through true feelings.
32. Governments spend millions of dollars on advertisements mainly to ________.
A. promote special produce or business B. show mercy on less developed organizations
C. spread a kind of concept to the public D. give away money to charities and schools
33. According to the passage, public interest advertising is mainly used by all the following EXCEPT ________.
A. charity organizations B. cinemas C. government services D. associations
34. What public interest advertisements have in common with other advertisements is that they are ________.
A. interesting B. expensive C. attractive D. tiring
35. What can we learn from the passage?
A. Public interest advertising encourages people to buy goods.
B. Public interest advertising sometimes forces concepts upon the public.
C. We cannot see any advertiser’s brand in public interest advertisements.
D. The words of public interest advertisements are mostly emotional.

Is your child not included in activities or invited to play games during the break? If so, here are some ways you can help him.
Acknowledge your child's concerns. Let him know and understand that what he is going through is hard for him and that you will do whatever you can to help. 36 Or set up a meeting with his teachers.
37 If your child talks about not fitting in or being picked on, comfort him and show concern about him. Help him learn some social skills and read social situations. Let him know that many children have experienced similar feelings or situations and try to help him come up with some solutions.
Be your child's coach and teacher. As a coach, you need to remind him of the skills he already has. Meanwhile, just like a teacher, help him develop the skills he needs to solve the problem. 38
Get involved. 39 That will allow you to observe interactions between the other children. Seeing what the kids most enjoy, talk about, or play can give you enough information to help your children better fit in.
