    Yellowstone Weather

    Yellowstone National Park is at high altitude. Most of the park is above 7500 feet (2275 meters).

    Yellowstone’s weather is unpredictable. In summer, it may be warm and sunny with temperatures in the high 70s. At night in any given month, the temperature may drop close to freezing. So it is best to come prepared for cold evenings and mornings, especially if you are camping or hiking. When you leave your campsite, please leave it prepared for possible thundershowers and wind.

    A sunny warm day may become fiercely stormy with wind, rain, sleet and sometimes snow. Without enough clothing, an easy day hike or boat trip can turn into a battle for survival.

    Spring

    Cold and snow continue into May, although

    temperatures gradually climb. Early in spring, daytime temperatures average in the 40s to 50s; by late May and June, they may reach the 60s and 70s. Nighttime lows fall below freezing.

    Summer

    Daytime temperatures are usually in the 70s, occasionally reaching the 80s in the lower area. Nights are cool, temperatures may drop in the 40s and 30ssometimes even the 20s. June can be cool and rainy; July and August tend to be somewhat drier, although afternoon thundershowers are common.

    Fall

         At least eight babies in East China’s Anhui Province have died since last year. they died of serious deficiency disease which happened to them because of fake milk powders.

    More than 100 other babies in Fuyang, mostly between three and five months old, are still in poor nutrition after drinking different kinds of cheap milk powders produced in North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province and Beijing.

    The baby victims were born healthy, but they became thinner and thinner, and had large heads for their bodies after fake milk powders were fed to them.

    “My girl, the first child of mine, died when she was only four months old after drinking the ‘Haobaobei’milk powder.”said Zhang Linwei, a 32-year-old villager of the Wangzhuang Village in Fuyang.

    Zhang found that his daughter got ill after the girl didn’t want to drink the milk powder any more half a month before.

    “Before that , I though my daughter’s face was becoming fatter and fatter because she was fed well and grew fast.”the baby’s father said.

    The girl died nine days later after she was sent to hospital and all of the family’s savings were spent on her medical treatment.

    “It is like a terrible dream. I never thought that my baby would pass away like this .”he said.

    Zhang said he tried to telephone and write to the producer of the milk powder by the address on the packing bag but never made it.

    “The fake milk powders only have 5-6 per cent protein and the lowest is has only 1 per cent. For babies, drinking such fake milk powder is no different from drinking water,”Zhang Fangjun, said a medical expert with the Fuyang People’s Hospital.

    “Such so-called milk powders cannot afford any nutrition for babies’ growth,” Zhang said.

       “S.H.E. is going to sing at the CCTV annual Spring Festival Evening Party, is that true? ”cried out Peng Weiye, a Senior 2 girl in Shanghai and die-hard S.H.E. fan.

    After checking it on the Internet, Peng quickly phoned friends to spread the news. For fans like her, S.H.E.’s performance is perhaps the only part of the old fashioned evening to excited about.

    The Taiwanese band is made up of Selina, Hebe and Ella. Their name comes from the first letter of each of the singer’s English names.

    Last week S.H.E. announced they would perform in Las Vegas, US, over Christmas and them in Guangzhou on January 15.

    At their Shanghai show on October 30, hundreds of parents waited outside the Hongkou Stadium. Inside, thousands of teenagers sang, cried and shouted as the band performed.

    “I love their music, healthy image and everything related to them. Thank God that, although my parents don’t’ understand why I love them so much, they still bought me a ticket for that show,”said Peng about the Shanghai performance.

    It is not just no the mainland that the three girl’s have made audience much excited. In the past year the band has passed through Taiwan, Hong Kong and even Singapore and Malaysia.

    When the three high school girls entered a singing contest in Taiwan in 2000, none of them ever dreamed of being a superstar. “We had never met before, and we didn’t talk at all at the beginning.”recalled Ella.

    When asked about the secret of their success, she said.“Our average looks and not-so-expensive clothes keep us close to our fans. We are happy to be the girls next door, your singing sisters.”

    “It’s really a magical journey, from day-dreaming high school girls to singers performing on the same stage as our idols(偶像). Nothing but magical,”she said.
