If the last blog didn’t give you enough ideas on how to entertain the family over the summer holidays, we have a few more great activities for you!

Get gardening

Start up a summer project in the garden and plant some seeds with the children! Cucumbers, peppers, beans and tomatoes are perfect vegetables to plant in your garden ,and a sunflower would be a lovely addition to watch grow throughout summer.

Visit a local farm or zoo

Local farms are a brilliant way to expose children to different types of animals, see them up close and sometimes  even feed them! A trip to the zoo will probably cost a bit more, but usually have more animals for children to see and  learn about.

Obstacle (障碍)course

Children love the thrill of a sports day at school but there  is no reason why you cant recreate that at home! Set up a mini obstacle course suitable for your childrens ages, and let the family sports day begin!

Have a treasure hunt

A treasure hunt around the house ,garden, or local park will be a great way to drop in some presents for the children for their good behavior over the summer  holidays — and who doesn’t love a treasure hunt? Get creative with the theme of the treasure hunt Pirate, Graffiti, or a Bear Hunt we think will go down a storm

A company’s logo (徽标) is a recognition tool for the public to link their services or products to the company. Let’s have a look at the most well-known companies in the world and see how their logos have changed over the years.

Microsoft

Think “Microsoft” and you might think up an image of the billionaire Bill Gates or a Windows PC, or perhaps a bold, italic typeface (粗斜体) bearing the company’s name. But in the early 1970s, the founders of the company had quite a different brand image. Back then, it was all curves (曲线) and capital letterseven separating ‘micro’ and ‘soft’ into two levels.

Canon

The camera giant was founded in Japan in 1934 as Kwanonnamed after a Buddhist goddess. The following year it rebranded as Canon to coincide with the launch of its first ever 35mm camera. Exactly half a century later, the company launched its first digital camera. In 2016, Canon enjoyed a 20% share of the digital camera market, more than any other brand.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s once had no iconic yellow ‘M’. In 1940, brothers Dick and Mac McDonald opened their McDonald’s barbecue restaurant in San Bernardino, California. The logo was made up of the words: McDonald’s FAMOUS BARBECUE. Ray Croc joined the business in 1955, bought the chain from them and oversaw its worldwide expansion.

Apple

The first Apple logo was created in 1976, where it featured the famous scene of how Issac Newton discovered gravitysitting beneath an apple tree. In the same year, the logo was changed into the shape of an apple with rainbow stripes, and it took a bite out of the apple, which made it different from others. It was then further simplified into an apple image consisting of only black. Since the year 2000, the apple logo has been recognized as a monochrome (单色的) apple.

During last year’s presidential debates, and through this year’s speech, Merriam-Webster has been an active presence on Twitter, sharing words experiencing an increase in search.

Its suitable, then, that safe space is among the 1,000 new additions Merriam-Webster made to its online dictionary today. Not all of the added words have been around for decades. Some of them, like “ binge- watch” and “photo bomb ”,are products of newer technologies, but saw big increases in recent use.

In a statement to The Huffington Pos t, Merriam-Webster's editor-at-large Peter Sokolowski added that the words announced today were added to the dictionary’s digital pages. “The online dictionary gives us both more space to expand entries and a way to add them more quickly, ” he said.

Other entries are updates of pre-existing words, such as “ ghost” used as an informal verb, and “train wreck” used to describe “a disaster or mess. ”

The new additions come from medicine, sports, literature ,fashion, politics and technology. One even comes from the name of a productive word inventor — “ Seussian” meaning “ suggestive of the works of Dr. Seuss. ”

Seventh-grader Jonah Maxwell has become a local well-known person after an anti-bullying (反欺凌) video he made became popular online.

He wrote and directed a 6-minute 30-second film with friends from school whose faces can not be seen as a way to take back power from bullies insulting (辱骂) others on social media.

“If it’s happened to you, you have to tell someone. If you are doing it, just think about this: It’s just as easy to be nice as it is to be mean and manners and respect cost nothing,” he said.

This social media has given bullying a whole new life far beyond fights in the school lunchroom or hallways.

“It’s mainly happening through social media but there is physical and social bullying. I have seen people getting ‘booked’ in hallways—somebody gets knocked into and the books fall all over the floor. The victim gets embarrassed.”

“My dad told me when he was a kid the bullying would stop at 3:30 every day. I told him it’s not like that anymore. They can get you 24/7, ”he says in the video. Jonah said bullying can start very early in grade school.

He has been interested in making videos from an early age. The first video he ever made was with a Crayola camera when he was 6 years old. His dad is a filmmaker with the final editing for his anti-bullying video.

The youngster said he wants people to “make their voices heard without fear” and tell someone if they are being bullied.— “Tell someone - it’s too hard to go through something like this alone, ” he said.

“The bullying never stops if there is social media involvedyou don’t leave it behind you at the school gates. It’s scary for me to think what kids go through but what is worse is that the kids don’t feel they should or can tell. Jonah’s message clearly states it doesn’t have to be this way,” his mother said.

Maxwell said teachers in the United States and abroad, including Brazil, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Australia, have been showing the video in school. “If it changes one person’s life it will have made a difference in our lives, ” she said.
