2.C 根据生活常识可知,艰苦工作易使人有皱纹,而且下文介绍奶奶的故事时,文中“she could hardly find any __14__ to realize it because of the tough work”“tough work”的提示。

5.A 根据空后的“so the teacher asked us to think about it after class”可推断出,我们对老师的提问未达成一致结论,故选A项。

7.B 根据下文的“My grandma is such a woman who pursues her dream __8__  when she's 70 now.”“So if we have our dreams and seek for them, we aren't old.”

11.C 根据下文的“stepped into the  __12__ to raise money so as to support her family”可推断,奶奶是将其梦想暂时搁置在一旁。

13.D 根据上文的“My grandma is such a woman who pursues her dream __8__ when she's 70 now.”

5.D 此空格后是对上文“an international grandmaster”的进一步解释说明,mean (that) ...

11.C “what we would learn in class”“our future professions”形成对比,把课堂所学应用于未来的职业中。apply sth. to sth.
